About Hamz Nakivubo Memorial Stadium

Previously known as Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium, this historic sports ground has been a central venue for Uganda’s sporting activities since its establishment in 1926.

Over the years, it fell into disrepair until Hajji Dr. Hamis Kiggundu, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, spearheaded its redevelopment in partnership with the government.

The result is a modern, 35,000-seater stadium equipped with VIP and VVIP sections, executive boxes, advanced floodlights, high-quality turf, and state-of-the-art security and medical facilities.
